50 min run + Workout

Yesterday I managed to do a 50 min run at an easy pace to get my body used to running long distances. It was a good run and the weather was good also. Afterwards, I did a 25 min workout consisting of stretches, pushups, situps, partial pullups and chest push. It wasn't a tough workout and I think the effect was perfect.

5km run + workout

Yesterday I went for a 5km run + a couple of km to the track and back and a workout. The workout involved stretches, pushups, situps, plank, crunches and leg-raises. This is in preparation for my long run this Sunday and hopefully everything will go well. It will be my longest and I hope to break my record doing this. I plan to take Friday and Saturday off to rest for my run...so hopefully that will pay off.

25 min Workout

Yesterday I did a 25 min workout comprising of stretches, pushups, situps, crunches, plank, leg-raises, and supermans. It was a tough workout considering my arms were still aching from the previous day. Today I feel that my arms are really hurting and I think I'll only be going for a run today.

5km run + 20 min workout

The day before yesterday I went for a 5km run + a 20 min workout comprising of stretches, pushups, situps, crunches, chest pushes on the body weight workout machines outside my house. Those machines are surprisingly effective and I'll be using them more often.

5km run + workout

Today I did a 5km run and a workout involving stretches, pushups, situps and crunches. It was actually longer than 5km because I had to run about 1.5 km to the track each way. However, I'm not going to count that distance and take it only as a warm up. This is good since it allows me to run longer distances without me realizing it. I'm preparing for a 30km run next weekend and hopefully these runs will help me in completing the race on time.

25 min Workout

Today I managed to do a 25 min workout with pushups, situps, crunches, squats, plank, side-plank, leg-raises and stretches. It's been a while since I have done an intensive workout like this and we'll see how I feel tomorrow morning.

30 mins workout + 7 km Run

On Monday I did a 30 min workout involving stretches, situps, pushups, crunches, plank, glute-raises and leg-raises. This workout was after about 1 week on not doing any sort of workout and it really felt good to start working out again.

I also did a 7km run on Tuesday in 42 mins 36secs. It's a little slow for me, but I think that time will improve in the future. Right now I have to keep motivated to workout on a regular basis.

30 min workout

Yesterday I did a 30 min workout with stretches, pushups, situps, leg-raises, glute-bridges, plank and crunches. An unstable work schedule is a real killer for working out. I hope my current project is over this work, cos it's really messing up my workout evenings.

30 min workout

Yesterday I did a 30 min workout consisting of stretches, pushups, situps, crunches, leg-raises, glute-bridges, plank and exercise wheel. It was very fast and very intense. The momentum has been good so far and I hope I can maintain this consistently.

20 min workout

Yesterday I did a 20 min workout with stretches, pushups, situps, crunches, leg-raises, glute-bridges, plank and exercise wheel. The exercise wheel was surprisingly difficult. I could do only 5 reps. Initially, I did not believe that this was a difficult exercise, but now I have developed a new respect for it and will continue to do it every day. Check out the video I found on Youtube below.

Oh and Happy New Year to all!

30 min workout

Yesterday I did a 30 min workout with stretches, pushups, situps, crunches, leg-raises, glute-bridges and plank. I have been really pushing the limits of my strength this last few days and I'm hopeful to start seeing changes soon. Will keep this blog updated.

30min workout

Today I did a 30 min workout with stretches, pushups, situps, crunches, leg-raises and plank. It was very intense and I didn't slow down during the whole workout. My goal is to do this same routine daily until I reach my goal of being ripped.

30 mins workout yesterday

Yesterday I did another 30 mins workout with stretches, pushups, situps, crunches, leg-lifts, and plank. I also tried walking lunges for the first time and they seem to be a really good exercise. I will probably make them a routine exercise in the future. Trying to get cardio into my routine is difficult as it was raining again today. What the hell is wrong with the cold rainy English weather. Can't wait to get back to tropical climates so that I can do my cardio properly. Again for inspiration I came across Glenda's story on on livestrong.com

30 min workout yesterday

Yesterday I did a 30 mins workout with stretches, pushups, situps, crunches, leg-lifts, and plank. Keeping up with the workouts is getting really hard with energy levels and motivations being low whenever I plan for the exercise. The stupid English rainy weather also doesn't help at all with my cardio routine. Have to wait for a dry day to do the cardio...which may be never in England. For motivation I rely on scooby a lot. His success story page is very inspirational and his new list uploaded today on his new domain getfit4free.org is good inspiration for my next few workouts.

30 mins workout

Today I did a 30 mins workout with stretches, pushups, situps, crunches, leg-lifts, and plank. It was an intense workout because I really was motivated just before the workout. I realise that it's important to get motivation before a workout and will be looking out for motivation tips for future workouts. In the meantime, websites like www.simplyshredded.com is a good motivational site for me.

Rest Day + 30 mins workout

Took a rest day yesterday, but managed to do a complete 30 min workout today. The workout comprised of stretches, pushups, situps, crunches, supermans, planks, bicycle-kicks and leg-lifts.

Most people think that in order to workout you have to go to a gym. I have been doing all my workouts at home with just an exercise mat; and the results are phenomenal. While some minor equipment would be useful, it is not necessary in order to get a great workout. Your body has enough weight to challenge you, and even doing simple pushups can be challenging for seasoned trainers. This website is an example of the 30 mins workouts available out there that can give you the training you need without going to the gym.

25 mins workout

Sorry I didn't post for the past 5 days, I was on really low energy while lectures started as well. The combination did not give me an opportunity to work out. Anyway I did work out today for 25 mins with stretches, pushups, situps, crunches, plank and supermans. I'm gonna try to be more consistent and not have such a long break again. It probably undid at least 1 week of my workouts - which is not good. I also found this good site called www.simplyshredded.com which had some really good tips about working out. I hope it helps.

33 min workout

Yesterday I managed to increase my workout time by 3 mins. In my 33 mins I managed to do stretches, pushups, situps, crunches, planks, supermans, leg-lifts and scissor-legs. Some of these exercises are actually not easy for beginners. This video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wa5Li3edwl4) shows how to do the plank with proper technique and is for more advanced trainers. However I usually do a simple plank by just holding in the plank position for about 1 min...like in this video(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHQmRINu4jU).

30 mins workout

Yesterday I did a 30 mins workout with stretches, pushups, situps, crunches, leg-lifts, planks and supermans. The motivation is difficult, but one of the ways that I motivate myself is by watching episodes of the Biggest Loser. The huge weight losses by the contestants is a real inspiration for those of us trying to get in shape. This is perhaps one of the greatest inspirations out there. If they can do it, so can we.
